Poker as a high school education comes to U.S.
A few months ago we commented as poker in the U.S. and other countries of the world was gaining ground as a method of teaching in universities. Now, through the Washington Post, we learn that on the George Mason of Virginia high school students have access to a Club Poker , an initiative that is led by math teacher.
The Poker Club has quickly become one of the extracurricular activities most popular among students, said Professor William Snyder , who through the poker teaches students how math and proposes the use of logical thinking in other areas.
Calculating pot odds (or pot, or dish) before recess
The principal, Tyrone Byrd is responsible for approving the Club in September and explained that while students may use their time in other activities, the fact that there are allowed to “learn to play a responsible and shows them how the game is related to their education. “
